An interview with Danielle Evans

Q: Hey, for those who aren’t familiar with your music, could you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a independent pop-contemporary Christian artist! I grew up singing my whole life and listening to all genres of music. My faith has also been really important to me so I love incorporating my faith, God and spreading hope to people who need it most with my music. I do everything on my own, from recording, to mixing to releasing. So you can imagine how much work I do with my music but the end result is so worth it. What I love most about my music is it’s unique. I have my own unique way of putting myself out there and getting to share my story through my music with my fans is something I’ll be forever grateful for. My style is more acoustic contemporary with a mixture of emotional ballads but I’m slowly diving into a little more upbeat pop soulful music!
Q: You recently released your new single “One More Day” – can you tell us what the song is about?
One More Day is about trying find the light when it feels so hard. Mental health is something that’s extremely important to me and I’ve struggled with as well since I was around twelve years old. I really wanted a song that come from such a vulnerable deep point of view. When I wrote this, I was struggling badly and how I capture my feelings and emotions is through songwriting. So I honestly, turned my pain into glory. And this song is a shed of light for others who our secretly or even discreetly struggling. You don’t have to walk through this alone and you always can make it One More Day no matter how hard the battle might be. And that’s something I wanted to convey with this song.
Q: What inspirations do you take when writing your music?
My inspirations behind my music and writing in general are base on real life situations, rather it’s myself, what a friend or family member would tell me or even reflecting on the past. I love writing and always have since I started at 17. It was a way of coping and songwriting is almost like journaling for me. Letting out emotions, feelings and so much more. It’s an emotional healing journey for me. Plus my fans, my fans are a big inspiration with my music. Hearing their own stories and how they connect with my music is something that inspires me everyday to keep writing and creating music.
Q: Who are your current favorite new artists?
My new artists I’m listening at the moment is We Three (if you’ve not heard of them they’ll be new for you) Ryan Bronson & Cimorelli.
Q: Who would your dream collaboration be with, and why?
My dream collaboration would be either Olivia Rodrigo or Taylor Swift. Everything about both artists is something I love and I am so inspired by both artists as a whole and with their sound. I definitely have some influences of them in my music.
Q: What does the rest of the year have in store for you?
Well, my debut album Breakthrough comes out August 26th on all major platforms. I’ve been hyping that up for the longest time and everyone is so excited. I’m working on a bunch of new covers for the rest of the year that will be going on YouTube and all streaming platforms as well as Original Christmas music for the holidays. And I’ve started writing and working on my third EP that is coming out early next year! The EP date is still TBA! I’ve also been trying to get some local shows going in my area to get myself out more!
