You recently released your new single “Familiar Feeling ” – can you tell us what the song is about?
Familiar Feeling is about wondering what keeps the spark alive through the ups and downs of a relationship. Sometimes we can find our way back to that familiar feeling, and sometimes we can’t.
Hey, for those who aren’t familiar with your music, could you tell us a little about yourself?
We are Pretty Archie from Cape Breton Island, Canada. We are childhood friends who started this band about 10 years ago. We make ‘Canadiana’ style music with Folk, Country and Rock influences.
What inspirations do you take when writing your music?
We take our writing inspiration from our lives and surroundings here on the Island. We are lucky to be close friends so we are able to collaborate and understand things from a similar perspective, while having lots of different ideas.
Who are your current favorite new artists?
We listen to alot of different things in the band, so it’s hard to narrow down a few. In terms of bands we constantly have on in the van, we love Tyler Childers, The Bros Landreth, Fred Eaglesmith, Brandi Carlile, Matt Mays the list goes on and on
Who would your dream collaboration be with, and why?
To pick a dream collab is a tough one! I think it would be a blast to work with a killer trad band like Talisk or Coig but it also would be fun to work with someone closer to our genre like Zach Bryan. Too hard to pick!!
What does the rest of the year have in store for you?
This year we will continue to play shows/tour and spread the word about our new album ‘Pretty Archie’. Give it a listen and add us to all the socials!
